Next Up: Chocolate Babka
Reader Elizabeth asks a critical question: why is there no chocolate babka recipe on the site as of yet? I have no answer. Which means I’d better get going. Recipe up soon!

I’ve always wanted to try to make one. Can’t wait for your tutorial!
I’m looking forward to it myself, Joanna!

Yay! Chocolate.
It never disappoints does it?

This is excellent news, Mr. Pastry!
Also, I made my first batch of knishes last week and they were amazing! I’d never had a knish before, but my husband said they were totally spot-on. Thanks for the recipe!
I am most gratified, Elizabeth! My main points of reference were some Downtown knishes (Yonah Schimmels in Greenwich Village), which I found to be a little big and starchy, and also some from the Upper West Side (Barney Greengrass on Amsterdam), which were a little small and lean. I tried to split the difference!
Cheers and many thanks for the feedback!

I’m looking forward to see how yours compares to the one over at Smitten Kitchen. Talk about a project, but boy was it divine once it was baked!
I love the stuff. We’ll see what happens!
Cheers,
– Joe
A vote for cinnamon while you’re at it! Chocolate is sooo overrated!
I’ll see what I can do, Nicole! Mrs. Pastry gave up chocolate for Lent, so she will applaud you for the suggestion!

Great! I have a recipe I love but I look forward to seeing what you do with it too.
Not much baking going on here. We have just moved to Vancouver and I’m not even up to speed on where my socks are. But a little inspiration can’t hurt. Might even provide some incentive to work my way through all the detritus of settling in properly.
Wow! Congrats on the move! Just did a history post on Puget Sound. Scroll down and see!
But of luck getting the pastry kitchen running!
