Bacon and Egg
There I was at the market, shopping for Easter breakfast, when what should I happen to come upon but a small pile of fresh ostrich eggs. Now, I’m not the type of guy who always orders the weirdest thing on the menu, but I simply couldn’t resist it. We were planning on bacon and eggs for breakfast anyway, this solution actually simplified things (at least until I had to crack it). It seems that ostrich are actually quite common on farms around Kentucky, as are emus (the emerald-green eggs from which were also on sale on Saturday). The one egg fed five of us with plenty to spare. But how did it taste? The little ones couldn’t stop eating scrambled ostrich eggs, and neither could I. I’d do it again just because it tasted good.
