Well that s*cked.

Today is the first day I’ve felt close to normal in over a week. My doctor warned me I’d feel sick until Monday and be exhausted ’til Thursday, and his prediction was pretty much spot-on. I’ll be back after it tomorrow morning, thankful that even though I had the world’s longest bout of flu, at least I didn’t get pneumonia. It’s time to make a batch of brioche!

  1. I’m 37 and have had influenza A once in my life (two or three years back). It wasn’t awful for me, but I remember being unable to get warm even under two or three blankets on the couch. Ah, the joys of illness. Nothing like having to pee really bad, but being in complete fear of removing your blankets to do so.

    1. Ugh, yeah and the night sweats are what kill me. I turn into a wimp really fast under those circumstances.

      Thanks Darren!

  2. Good to see you back Joe, take it easy will ya 🙂

We want this blog to continue, and I’m waiting to see the Beast in the yard fired up again

    Take care

    1. Thanks Warren!

      I’ll get after that when I can…soon I hope!

      Cheerio,

  3. Take all the time you need. I’ve had the flu a couple of times and just when I thought I was over it – WHAM!! The backlash was almost as bad as the actual flu.

    1. Yeah, as I mentioned to another commenter, this has turned to pneumonia with one friend. I’m not taking chances!

      Cheers,

  4. Glad you’re feeling better. Take it easy until you’re strong again. And I hope the rest of the fan stays well so you don’t trade it back and forth.

How about some chicken soup with that brioche?

    1. So far so good. I’m feeling pretty back to normal today thank God. But I shall indeed take it slow.

  5. Yeah, maybe wait ’til Monday. I thought I was fine, energetic and ready to go, until I attempted working. Came home and went to bed. Today, I think I’m fine, energetic and ready to go. Maybe I’ll go a bit slower.

    1. Yeah this one hurts, no question. A friend had it last week, tried to ignore it and ended up with pneumonia. Not for me, thanks! Take it easy yourself!

  6. Oof, that flu sounds bloomin’ awful. Glad to hear you’re on the mend though and hope you’re keeping your strength up with proper comfort food.

  7. I wondered if you weren’t sick when there were no new updates, we worry about you Joe. Years ago I had the real flue (what you had, not that simple stomach flue) & had a temp of 104 & was hallucinating, most unpleasant. Glad you are on the mend!

    1. Thanks, Frankly. That was it, and it was no fun at all. It’s good to be back and healthy again!
