We done with security warnings now?

Good grief this has take a long time. Round and round with my SSL provider over whose problem it was, and where it was hiding out. Yah! I think we have it figured out now, so readers can drop in without fear that I’m not Joe, and that someone pretending to be Joe might be trying to steal their family’s top secret spice cake recipe. Let me know if you’re still getting those!

    1. Ha! Boy did I fool you, buster. But rest assured it’s in a safe place, and may be re-acquired for a very reasonable price.

  1. I was able to access this site for the first time last night. Hooray! Lots of reading to catch up on.

    1. Thank you so much for getting the site up and running again! I was worried I’d never see the laminated dough tutorial again. It’s next on my list of projects to tackle

      1. I’m happy it’s still up myself, Rachel! But tomorrow is promise to no one, so get cracking on that laminated dough. You won’t be sorry!

    1. Hey Vicky!

No, just more techno-irritations. Thanks for sticking it out!

  2. Hoorah! (And feel free to remove my comment wondering what was going on.) I’m relieved it isn’t my computer too!

    1. Yes it was a long, silly struggle. They happen sometimes!

Thanks for your patience (and persistence).

  3. I really thought all your recipes were being held ransom by hackers. Much more terrifying than our recipes being intercepted, in my opinion.

    1. Hehe…thanks Maria. You know, some n’er-do-wells in (I think) Singapore tried that several years ago. In the end they settled for a jury-rigged RSS-blog kinda thing that automatically re-posted everything I put up on a new site. I can’t remember the name of it, Joe’s Pastry Blog or something like that. I’m pretty sure it’s down now, but it was a flattering piece of attempted sabotage.

      Thanks Maria!

  4. I am so relieved and happy you are again accessible. No need for our daughter to provide me a “work around” to access your pecan pie and stollen recipes.

    1. Hey Mary Lou!

Yes, there are bumps aplenty with JP this year. I think this is the third major technical glitch of 2020, which is in keeping with the spirit of the times I suppose. Thanks for bearing with me!

  5. Ah, that explains it…I wasn’t getting any JP in my RSS reader feed but I assumed it was just a hiatus (as happens these days). Then all of a sudden I got a dozen articles all at once.

I suspect that means your certificate was the culprit and at least my reader believes it to be fixed.

I spent much of yesterday catching up, which was nice.

    1. Yes I have a fair number of hiatuses…haiti? Hiatum…these days. Hard to express fully how nuts things are in Pastryland. But no more so than for a lot of families out there, so we press on as best we can!

      Thanks for your patience, essbee.

    1. Ha! Thank you Diane! I’ll be impossible to deal with tonight after that compliment. My poor wife and daughters!

Cheers, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
