That Didn’t Take Long!

Chocolate Chip Cookies

1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup shortening
1 cup cooking oil
1 egg, beaten
1 Tblsp. milk
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1 pkg. chocolate chips
1/2 cup nuts, optional
3 1/2 – 4 cups flour

Cream together sugars, shortening, oil, egg and milk until light and fluffy. Add the rest of the ingredients until well mixed. Drop by teaspoonfuls on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees F for 10-12 minutes. Makes a REALLY big batch.

My expectation here is that the shortening and the extra acid (the cream of tartar) make for a cakey result.
