Well Whaddya Know…
It worked! I woke up this morning and it was a brand new me! Many, many thanks to the international Joe Pastry site implementation team, a staff of hundreds otherwise known as Greg and Jason. Thanks a million, gents. You’ve done a banner job putting together the bigger, better Joe. And just in time, too, as back-end functions were dropping off the old site like so many pieces of fender off a ’68 Malibu.
But come on in and have a look around, all you regulars. You’ll see that the new joepastry.com has the features so many of you were clamoring for: a cleaned-up, easier-to-navigate tutorial list, larger, easier-to-read text, plus — at long last — comment fields. Just click on either the headline or the “Read On” link and you’ll see not only the full post but also a comment field at the bottom. This is a feature some of you have been on me about for literally years. So go nuts! (Just keep it family-friendly and don’t expect a reply to every comment…I spend enough time working on this site as it is!).
Also don’t hesitate to write in with any suggestions for improvements or tweaks. I might not make them all (what, you think I’m made of money?), but I’d like to know what you think. So have fun poking around. It’ll be like an open house around here all week.
What happened to the pictures? Devastated! Hope it’s a technical snag that you will rectify.

Using the latest Firefox, I am getting some unusual (blocky) for post headings (and in a few other areas)
I have about a thousand fonts on my pc – so just wondered what might be causing the problem. It currently appears as if you have a font drawn from the early 1980s – which I am sure you aren’t!
Thanks Simon. A blocky, courier sort of font is part of the design (you know those design types like to do the unexpected), but if it’s coming out bit-mapped or something like that, that’s not intentional. I’ll ask my crew to look into it.

Terrific site. I read it often and it’s my go to reference. Thanks for the good work. I’m running the latest version of Firefox and the post titles look like 8-bit fonts and the pictures are not showing. I love the photos. They let me know when something is right or I’m messing things up. Keep up the good work.

Hi Joe, now that it’s been a little while since the site changes were made (time to see if it was just change bothering me rather than a specific issue), I wanted to make a small request/constructive criticism. I’m wondering if there’s a way to add an “expand/collapse all” button to the site so that I can read the entirety of a post without having to click into it individually.
Since your posts usually come in sets or units about a specific baking project, I like to read all of them. The thing is, now that they’re all collapsed, if I take even a single days break from reading (or if you post more than once in a day), I have to open several separate tabs. I know it probably works for some people, but it doesn’t work for me (and I suspect I’m not the only one). An expand all button seems like a reasonable option for a compromise. I’ve seen them on other sites, and they would leave the option with the user.
I’ll see what I can do about that, V. Maybe my developer has a trick up his sleeve!
