How do you say you use this stuff again?
Cinnamon is the archetypal “sweet” spice, though as I’ve written, in days gone by it didn’t always occur to people to eat it — at least in the Western part of the world. Though it probably arrived in the Mediterranean as early as tree thousand years ago, it was used as an embalming compound by the Egyptians, as a perfume by the Greeks, and as incense by the Romans. Though it’s been used to season food in India and regions eastward for millennia, it seems as though it took until the middle ages for it to really catch on as a “food” in the West.
