She’s 4
Can you tell? Little Josephine turns four today and for her birthday she requested a hot pink cake with a rainbow on it. She doesn’t like buttercream (the only thing that makes me sometimes doubt my paternity) so it’s a poured fondant icing over yellow butter cake with a raspberry filling (she’s a berry girl). The rainbow I made with store-bought icing you can get in tubes. I know, but I wasn’t about to hand-mix seven different colors of royal icing (what are you nuts???).
Sigh. Gone are the days when I can make a Dobos torte or burnt orange caramel buttercream-iced cake for my oldest daughter’s birthdays. Now she insists that I make what SHE wants. She can’t do that…can she?
