Dunkin’ Cronuts?
You knew it was coming. Sooner or later somebody was going to try a mass-market knock-off Dominique Ansel’s 2013 smash hit. Why did these things ever make international headlines in the first place? Who knows, I still can’t figure it out. Be that as it may, “croissant doughnuts” is what Dunkin’ Donuts is calling them and the good folks over at Vocativ have a review. Enjoy!
That review left me with just one burning question: if the croissant donut isn’t Dunkin’ Donut’s worst offering, what is?!

Fast food chain Jack in the Box beat Dunkin’ Donuts to the mass-market hybrid pastry punch. They’re selling a three-pack of them for $1.99.
I haven’t tried them yet, but maybe some day I’ll work up the courage.
No kidding! The Midwest was never a Jack int he Box stronghold, so I haven’t seen one in years. But I understand there are a few in Indianapolis now, so maybe on one of my request trips back to Chicago I’ll get a chance to try one!
