Dang Interwebs
I haven’t had web access at the command center all day. Which isn’t that bad a thing since I haven’t had much to blog about. Due to (ehem) operator error, the chestnut paste I ordered last week went to my sister in St. Louis by mistake. I thought it was taking a while!
Hope she’s following along and will soon be salivating over her own Mont Blanc.
LOL… welcome back!
Thanks, HBM! I do detest an outage. Where would I be if I couldn’t pontificate electronically?

You let the girls order your pastry components? LOL
I have been on a quest to make chestnut stuffing for some weeks now, and cant even find them online now…we have tomatoes year round, just sayin’…
Hah! Er…yeah, that was the problem!
But yes, chestnut anything is relatively scarce in this country. Very sad indeed.

I was intrigued by your description of the hardiness of the tree and looked around for chestnut seeds. I discovered that very few “American” chestnuts are available except possibly blight-resistant varieties from horticultural societies, but Chinese chestnuts are readily available. If you have time, could you explain the difference?
I’ll do what I can, Melanie! I’ll put a post up on that in a few minutes.

Enjoy the day off. You deserve it!
Back now, but thanks, Brian!

Yum! Chestnut paste is the best… can’t wait to see what you do with it! Ha… I can totally relate. I’m writing a blog about cooking on a boat circumnavigating the world. Wifi and supplies aren’t always readily available but I still make some pretty tasty treats. I’d love to hear what you think of Sally in the Galley and would really appreciate advice or suggestions if you have time http://www.sallyinthegalley.net
Great stuff, Sally! I shall put up a short post on you. Thanks for checking in, and do come back when you can!
