Ummm…isn’t corn a grain?
In fact it isn’t, reader Sherry. Corn is a vegetable, though we certainly treat it as a grain, no question about that.

Corn that has not matured is call a vegetable by many as we all like to eat corn on the cob or from a bag or can but once it matures and drys on the stock it is a grain. Yet, the botanical definition of corn defines it as a fruit. So the classification is a personal preference. I personally would call it a grain.
Thanks James!
