More than a few people that I very much respect are saying so. And why wouldn’t it be? David Lebovitz is one of the nation’s premier pastry makers and educators, having been a pastry honcho at Chez Panisse for a dozen years. In addition to that he’s written several highly acclaimed books, including Room for Dessert which was nominated for the 1999 International Association of Culinary Professionals cookbook award (I own it and use it). These days he’s a globe-trotting pastry man-about-town, spending much of his time in Paris where he hosts tours of the local chocolate scene. Not bad work if you can get it, not bad at all.
